Part III: Cook Quick Meals
You probably get home really late from work and the last thing you want to do is cook dinner. Cooking takes too long, it’s too complicated, and you never feel like you have the right ingredients. So you opt for take-out, which usually comes in HUGE portions, is made with low quality oils and fats, wilty non-organic vegetables and processed meats. Yuck. Eating like that night after night can really catch up to you.
With these simple tips, cooking can be easy, cheap and healthy!
Steam your greens! This literally takes 3 minutes. Some good greens to steam: Kale, Collard Greens, Bok Choy (there are many more, but start with those). If you don’t know what those are, ask a grocery clerk or a farm stand manager. Best to buy organic.

If you are like most people in the corporate world, you are CONSTANTLY stressed out, and stress is the biggest cause of weight gain. Let me explain why. The stress response is actually meant to keep us alive. When we are stressed we go into fight or flight mode- our pulse quickens, our breathing becomes rapid and shallow, we release hormones like adrenaline, insulin and cortisol, and our blood flow moves away from our abdomen into our arms and legs and into our brain. This makes us really good at running away from lions. Unfortunately our brain cannot tell the difference between a near death experience and an approaching a deadline and will elicit the same physical response.

Part I: Take a Break On Your Lunch Break!
Picture this, you are sitting at your desk ferociously preparing for your 2pm meeting with your boss and you are stuffing your face with a chicken sandwich which you bought downstairs for $20 (ugh, only in Manhattan!). Without even blinking an eye, the sandwich is gone, you’re still hungry, so you go to the kitchen and grab some chips and a bag of mini-Oreos, now your stomach hurts, you feel bloated and grumpy and are still in no way prepared for your meeting. Ugh!
