I believe that every woman deserves to feel beautiful, adore her job, and be madly in love.
There was a time in my life when I felt like I needed to be a size 2 to deserve those things. I would lie in bed hoping that the next diet would be my fairy godmother that would bippity boppity boo my pumpkin shaped body into swimsuit model material, and send me a dashing prince with sweet dance moves and a killer castle.
From my first Weight Watchers meeting when I was 10 years old, to my post-college one-week juice cleanse when I ate an entire bag of Dove Chocolates on the third day, I’ve been on over 50 failed diets and had nothing to show for it but a monstrous appetite, high anxiety, stretch marks and bad acne.
Then I figured out the secret that changed everything.
You see, most women wait for their life to begin when they’re thin. But when you’re waiting for your life to begin when you’re thin, you get bored and bummed out. And when you’re bored and bummed out… you eat.
What if you didn’t need to lose weight to ask for a raise, put yourself out there, make a difference, have an adventure or buy a new wardrobe? When you stop waiting on the weight, all of a sudden your life is a frickin’ blast. When life is fun and fulfilling you no longer need to fill up on food to feel satisfied.
I thought that all I wanted was to be thin. But actually, what I really wanted was to be happy. What I realized is that although being fit and healthy was a dream of mine, being thin wasn’t necessarily going to make me happy.

I’m a girl’s girl who loves to cut the bullshit and get down to what’s actually going on. I cry easily and love to hug. I love to plan romantic surprises for my incredible husband, Jonathan. I’m mildly obsessed with my Alma Mater – Williams College, you’ll often find me wearing purple and yellow just for the hell of it. I sing christmas carols year round. When I make cookies, I usually eat 5 cookies worth of cookie dough. I meditate to pop music.
I’m a self-help junkie, and a total foodie. I love planning fancy picnics and spend most of my budget trying new restaurants in San Francisco.
And I still have days when I feel like I don’t look good in anything.
