The real reason I’m a Swifty

I can’t believe this just happened 🤣 I was just asking the Goddess what I should write to you about today – if you’ve been reading our recent emails, you know that I ask the Goddess about everything now and I can’t tell you how efficient it is.

So I’m driving in the car with my kids home from visiting my parents in the Berkshires, and I just say in my head “hey Goddess, should I send an email about my grandparents or Taylor Swift?” I opened my eyes and INSTANTLY passed two street signs that said “Taylor St”.

You got it.

I’ve been a big Taylor Swift fan since Fearless came out sixteen years ago. “You Belong With Me” was basically the origin story of my relationship with Jonathan, so it played on repeat for months. 

But it wasn’t until “Miss Americana”, her documentary, came out that I became a die-hard Swifty, and not because of her epic lyrics, brave comeback, or brilliant business mind – it’s because I realized she knows how to work with frequency.

 To explain frequency, I have a metaphor…

Imagine you have a tiny flashlight that has a lightbulb that is completely unique to you. Maybe yours is the shade of blue only found at a single inlet along the coast of Greece, or is a kaleidoscope of 22 different colors, or shines prisms of rainbow triangles…

And on this flashlight is a slider that adjusts the amount of current or energy that shines through the light bulb which, of course, controls the amount of light that comes from it, and therefore, amplifies your unique light.

But here’s what happens – a lot of people walk around with their flashlight off in their pocket, or they’ve been taught that their lightbulb is ugly, too wacky, too dark, or too much, so they try to change it to be more like someone else’s light bulb – and you can always tell.

And we all seem to have this unspoken agreement about how bright women’s flashlights are allowed to get, so when someone turns theirs all the way up, people get mad, as if to say “We’ve all been following the rules over here! Dying of boredom, squeezing ourselves into a box, slowly dying of being so vanilla. Who gave you permission to just turn your light all the way up!? The AUDACITY.”

But really, it’s just so painful to realize that we actually just can put our hand in our pocket, and turn up the lights. No one can stop us, and no one is coming to give us permission either.

When Kelly and I went to see Taylor in Paris, as a Priestess, I instantly felt her frequency and the incredible amplification at which she runs it, because frequency is at the core of what I have been studying and working with for 13 years.

There are plenty of people who are better singers than Taylor, plenty of people who you could argue are better songwriters (though I would gladly take you in that argument), plenty of people who are better dancers, but no one runs more energy through their unique light bulb like Taylor does. And I believe that is what makes her such a Star. 

Taylor is such a great example of how we can use the power of frequency, presence, and space holding to amplify our unique purpose & gifts. Anyone can be a singer, no one can be Taylor Swift.

Here’s what I need you to know – your satisfaction, happiness, success, and growth have A LOT to do with your frequency – that is, finding your unique flashlight that may have gotten buried deep down, or getting it back to its original, authentic glory after trying to alter it for so long, AND THEN learning how to run energy through it. Yes, there will always be unavoidable external circumstances that get in the way of your happiness and success, or unknown life lessons our souls are meant to experience, but I can say with 100% confidence that having a clear and bright frequency will help you navigate those moments with more grace than if you didn’t.
