NEW Workshop: New Year New Moon New You (Online + In Person)

Blog

How are you feeling so far in 2018? Do you feel different? Have you made all the changes you said you would last week? Kinda yeah, kinda no?

The biggest mistake people make when setting intentions is they think that if they just write them down and WANT to change badly enough, they will. I wish it were that easy.

The truth is that intentions take follow-up. But not follow-up in the way most people will tell you.  I’ve found that even with strategic planning, scheduling, accountability, and hard work, a lot of my intentions don’t come into reality. Or if they do, they feel forced, like I’m working even harder than I was before I tried to be a better person. The change doesn’t feel part of my being; it feels like a role I’m playing. Do you ever feel that way?

What I’m about to say may sound weird, but the truth is that the one thing that has really helped me integrate my intentions into my life in a natural way, so that they feel part of me, is Magic.

Yep. Magic. Specifically, Moon Magic – a timeless practice that women have utilized for thousands and thousands of years.

Here’s how it works: You sit in a circle with other women under a New Moon, commit to showing up as your real, raw self, and speak (or write) your intentions into a sacred container.  Very simple. Very powerful.

What is a New Moon and when does it happen?

New Moons occur the day after the dark Moon when the first sliver of light (still undetectable to the human eye) emerges as the Earth’s shadow shifts slightly to allow the Sun to reflect its light off of the Moon.

Why is it a good time to set intentions?
There are a few reasons why…

  1. The New Moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle that lasts 28 days. Any time we are at the start of something (like the New Year), it is a great time to set intentions.
  2. The Moon will start growing in light every day for 14 days until it reaches Full Moon status. The building of light in the sky plus the increasing gravitational pull of the Moon (we have the highest tides during the Full Moon because the gravitational pull of the Moon combined with the Sun) – this PULLS our intentions into reality.
  3. Darkness turns off our senses and forces us to come inward. If you’ve ever meditated, walked at night without a flashlight, or just gone a day without cell service, you’ll be able to relate to hearing your thoughts and intuition and having heightened awareness during these times.

The other times we get to experience these energies is when we’re bleeding, during the winter months (dark, dead, quiet), and at the beginning of the year (beginning of a cycle).

So just imagine how powerful the New Moon is going to be on January 17th! It’s like an intention-setting triple threat.

I would love to have you join me for…

Women have been gathering under the Moon since the beginning of time to celebrate, practice magic, and connect with the divine energy that flows through the stars, the trees, and our blood.

Something truly unexplainable happens when women gather in a sacred space. You’ll have to come and experience the magic for yourself.

Whether you’re a devout Catholic or a seasoned Witch… a maiden, mother, or crone… a lawyer or an artist or a teacher… you are welcome, just as you are. All I ask is that you come with an open mind and a pillow to sit on.

And I am so excited to have Jennifer Racioppi, my astrologer and dear friend, joining us to give us the rundown on 2018 so we can prepare and plan for a great year.
